Dave “Deuce” Mason grew up in Carmichael, California and from a young age he knew where he wanted to go—he wanted to work in the sports world. He spent a lot of time with a tape recorder where he’d call games and do mock talk shows. He also spent way too much time on a Sacramento Kings message board.

Why does he want to be in the sports world?
Sports was always an escape for him growing up. If you can’t play them at a high level, why not get paid to talk about them?

Was his dad really in prison?
Yes, it’s true! He's out now but was in prison most of Deuce’s life. Deuce has used that to motivate him to do accomplish his goals.

OK. Why does he still watch WWE?
He watched it as a kid and then the stupid WWE Network got him to following it again. It's definitely a problem.

Why is he the “Beacon of Physical Fitness”?
Deuce says “the people” gave him that name. We know this is inaccurate but admire that he tries to get in better shape after looking like a Michael Cera stunt double for most of his life.

Why is he called “The Voice”?
Sacramento News & Review nominated him for the best radio voice in Sacramento so he started calling himself “the voice.” Again, he claims “the people” started giving him the nickname but we all know the truth.

Favorite sports moment?
Mike Bibby’s game-winner in Game 5 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals and Travis Ishikawa’s walk-off home run in Game 5 of the 2014 NLCS.

What’s his favorite book?
Last Words by George Carlin and Don't Sweat The Small Stuff by Richard Carlson
